Chocolate Fondue [Redacted]

Apparently, when you mention a certain young starlet in the title of a blog post, little food blogs like this one garner quite a bit of traffic.  Unfortunately,  its the ‘inundated with comments featuring XXX pingbacks and porno links’ kind of traffic.  So as not to allow the insidious internet autobots to interfere with your enjoyment of this delicious fondue, I present you with a slightly modified post, with names retracted to protect the not-so-innocent.

This just in: Chocolate fondue is ridiculously easy to make.

As in: Weeknight easy. As in: You won’t be away from your guests for very long easy. As in: You can dip practically anything into it easy. (Which kind of makes it [insert starlet’s name here] easy.)

Chocolate Fondue
serves 4

10 – 12 ounces bittersweet chocolate
1/2 cup heavy cream
pinch of salt
optional: 2 tablespoons amaretto, grand marnier, kahlua, etc…

In a saucepan, scald the cream (warm it until just before boiling.) Remove the pot from the heat, and stir in your chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate bar pieces.) Stir well until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in the pinch of salt, and 2 tablespoons of liqueur (if using.) If the chocolate isn’t smooth, add tiny amounts of cream and stir until you’ve reached the proper consistency. Serve right out of the hot pot, or, if you have a fondue pot, pour into the pot set over a small tealight flame. Serve immediately, stirring every so often to prevent chocolate from scalding.

Serve with: brownie chunks, pound cake, assorted berries, pretzels, bananas, butter cookies, graham crackers, balls of cookie dough, broken tips of Jimmy Choo heels and varying amounts of self esteem.

Yes – ok….Linday Lohan finally revealed her naked / nude freckled boobs in the pics as Marilyn Monroe. The high resolution shots don’t look too bad either.

But a couple of people were saying she looks like a 50yr old. 50 aint bad???

lol…you are on a roll! But I think that My Husband Hates Veggies is NSFW this week!

Lol, ok, I am sorry we missed the original post…

Some other great fondue ideas: make it spicy with chilis, or stir in some leftover coffee or espresso powder.

  • Heh, I missed the original title, but the starlets name still show up in the smal preview.

When we were on the dumpling kick a week or two ago, we made fried wontons filled with sweetened mascarpone and strawberry jam that were then dipped in dark-chocolate fondue (pretty much the same recipe you’ve written). SO GOOD. We were at my sister-in-law’s, and although I brough my camera I completely forgot to document the whole thing. Fondue (in any of it’s incarnations) does that to a gal!

  • So, this is healthy, right? Because of the raspberries, pretzels, and graham crackers.

  • Thanks for the comments, guys.

Emily: I know, I blame it on falling asleep to late night cable programming…something has seeped into my subconscious this week!

Ron, I love the espresso idea…I will try that next time.

Michelle, the mascarpone & strawberry wontons dipped in chocolate sound amazing. There would probably be a way to do it with puff pastry that would be great too.

Cokane: Yes. Incredibly healthy. Its dark chocolate!
